14MWe Biomass Power Plant - Western Wood Energy
Sustainable Energy was lead project consultant for the development of the Western Wood Energy 14MWe biomass power plant in Port Talbot, South Wales. Sustainable Energy advised the client from project conception, through the initial key stages of feasibility, business planning, sourcing and securing of grant funding, setting up of wood fuel contracts, the submission and securing of planning permission and collation of supporting information to facilitate environmental permitting. The contract for project development was then awarded to a turn-key contractor; the plant is now in operation and is Wales' first and only biomass power plant.
