Wind

Sustainable Energy has developed a number of on-site wind turbine projects in industrial and urban areas, where the generated electricity is used to offset customer demands. Our projects have included schemes from 50kW up to a 2.5MW single wind turbine in an urban location.

We use in-house wind energy modelling software to calculate the historic instantaneous electricity demand (hourly or half hourly) of the client’s site and reference this against the historical actual recorded wind data over the same period. This provides a detailed energy model that can be used to validate the split of electricity consumed on site and the energy that will need to be exported. Inputting actual site electricity tariffs for day/night/non-workday and export value and Feed In Tariffs (FITs) allows a detailed financial model to be constructed, facilitating optimum sizing for wind projects with consideration of energy costs/value/savings and financial incentives.

Our wind energy services include:

  • Wind resource assessments
  • Site surveys
  • Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Visualisations
  • Planning applications
  • Procurement advice
  • Grid connection to national grid requirements
  • Feed In Tariffs (FITs)
  • Due diligence
